How to identify it

Extremely small (1.5–2 mm), pale yellow to orange with a darker abdomen. Workers are all the same size. They run in thin, faint trails near warmth and moisture.

Where it hides

Wall voids, inside electrical conduit, under floors and behind insulation — anywhere warm, dark and near moisture or food. Found in homes, restaurants, hospitals and hotels.

Signs you have them
  • Near-invisible trails of pale yellow ants along wall junctions, pipes and counters
  • Ants appearing in bathrooms, near IV lines, or inside medical or food packaging
  • Multiple small nests forming simultaneously after a repellent spray is used
Why it matters

Pharaoh ants are a serious public health pest — they transmit Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, and are notorious for infesting hospitals and care facilities. Repellent sprays cause colonies to bud rapidly, making infestations worse.

How Rhino treats it

Repellent treatments guarantee failure with pharaoh ants. Rhino deploys non-repellent bait systems that workers carry to every queen across every nest, achieving a full colony collapse.
