House Mouse
Small gray mice that slip through dime-sized gaps and breed fast indoors.

How to identify it
Small, 7–10 cm body, gray-brown with a lighter belly, large ears and a thin tail about as long as the body. Droppings are rice-grain sized and pointed.
Where it hides
Pantries, kitchens, garages, wall voids and cluttered storage. They enter through gaps as small as a dime.
Signs you have them
- Tiny dark droppings along walls and in drawers
- Gnaw marks on packaging and baseboards
- Scratching in walls
- A musky ammonia odor in enclosed spaces
Why it matters
Mice contaminate food, chew wiring, and spread salmonella, hantavirus and other pathogens. A pair can become dozens in a season.
